Oh you're in CA at the moment? I'm so jealous! It's a hard business to get into. If you don't know anyone else in it that can tell others of your skills then the next best thing you can do is promote yourself until someone notices you.

It is hard! I just do my own stuff for now. I'm currently self teaching myself animation while using my knowledge of film production from my college courses.

It seems you have to start off small unless you know people in the business :o
